The Greyhounds travelled to Grange Road on Wednesday afternoon quietly confident that they had a squad strong enough to gain that much sought after tenth win a row and their faithful supporters were not disappointed as they came away with a comprehensive 36 points to nil demolition of the Cambridge LX Club. Lead by the fearless flanker Dugald Macdonald, the Hounds put their foot on the throat of the opposition from the kick off and barring a 10 minute spell at the start of the second half, did not take it off until the referee blew for full-time. Every player from 1 to 23 made a contribution on the day, as the performance showed that the spirit of Greyhounds rugby is still very much alive and will be a great fillip for the Blues when they travel to Twickenham next Thursday. The Hounds scored six tries, two from second row Matt Craggs and one each from centre James Dargan (on his 23rd birthday), wings Sam Wareham & Seb Williams and Mike ‘Hoggy’ Rickner, who was once again outstanding at No 8. Fly-half Dylan Jones converted two and scrum-half Andrew McCulla one.
