Happy New Year from all at OURFC. With a third consecutive Blues Varsity Match victory secured at Twickenham in December and a fantastsic four out of five wins for the club as a whole, the club is now firmly focused on building on this success in 2013. The Blues have an exciting fixture list this term with four home matches against the RAF, Royal Navy, Crawshays and Penguins with away trips to play the Army at Aldershot and finishing with a trip to Dublin to play TCD. The Greyhounds, who secured a tenth win in a row against the Cambridge LX Club last December, have a semi-final of the Oxfordshire Cup against Wallingford to look forward – they last won this competition in 1976, so they are keen to return to the final this April. They along with the Whippets will also play against the Ecole Centrale University from Paris, who visit Oxford in February for a weekend. The Under 20’s host University College Cork in January, before playing their final match in the National U20’s Championship at home to Warwickshire in February. College rugby will see the conclusion of the 2012/13 league season in early February, before the 2013 Cuppers Competition gets underway with the finals scheduled for Wednesday 6th March at Iffley Road. With this season competition marking the Centenary of ‘Official Cuppers’ Rugby. all college’s will be looking to make a big effort to make it to the finals!
