On Sunday afternoon the Under 20’s hosted their Warwickshire counterparts in the final group match, with both teams having won one and lost one in their previous two group fixtures. Conditions were not conducive to either team playing rugby but to their credit they did try despite the rain and sub zero temperatures! In a game of two half’s, it was Oxford who had the better of the first period and were 15 nil ahead at the interval with trys from flanker Henry Hughes (Magdalen), hooker Will Darby (St Edmund Hall) and scrum-half Matt Shorhose (University), all remained unconverted. Warwickshire hit back after the break with two trys and one conversion, but ultimately ran out of time to turn the score around and came up 3 points shy, final score 15 points to 12.
Oxford will now travel to face Durham in the quarter-finals on Sunday 7th April.
