On Wednesday lunchtime the OURFC Pavilion played host to the 3rd round draw for the Tetley’s Challenge Cup – the oldest and most prestigious silverware on offer in rugby league! With the newly formed Oxford Rugby League Club due to kick-off their home matches at Iffley Road on Saturday 13th April, this was the perfect venue for the occasion and Kevin Whately – better known as Detective Inspector Lewis from the ITV series Morse & Lewis – was present to draw the home teams. Sadly, he could not produce a home draw for Oxford who will travel to face Championship front runners Halifax on Sunday 7th April. The Super League clubs do not enter until the next round.
