Oxford University Women’s Rugby Football Club is seeking to appoint a Head Coach for the 2013-14 season, with the potential for on-going employment. OUWRFC field a firsts (Blues) and seconds (Panthers) team but train together as a squad, with a great deal of movement of players between teams. After a successful season in which the club finished 4th in the BUCS Premiership South and won both Varsity matches, the club is growing in depth but losing some playing experience. We are looking to appoint a Head Coach who is capable of developing a squad of relatively inexperienced girls with the dual aims of competing for the top three places in the BUCS Premiership South and preparing the squad for the upcoming move to play Varsity at Twickenham alongside the men’s club (OURFC).
The role requires a highly organised individual who is able to manage a team of coaches, with a sound knowledge and experience of rugby. Experience coaching women is preferable but not essential. The successful applicant will be expected to plan and attend practices twice a week during term time, attend all Blues matches as well as pre-season and mid-season tours, and be available for regular meetings with the Club Captain to coordinate training. Following selection of the Head Coach, the successful applicant will assist the Committee in hiring an Assistant and Development coach.
The role requires regular availability beginning mid September 2013. The salary range is £3000-£5000, and is negotiable dependent on qualifications and experience.
