The Royal Air Force Spitfires rugby 7’s team lead by former Blue Tim Barlow (St Anne’s), cycled 540 miles from Glasgow to London, having left Glasgow on Saturday 4th May. They are raising money for two charities, the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and Khelo Rugby, a charity promoting sport and tag rugby to children in India. They have had a ‘rest day’ on Thursday, instead they ‘enjoyed’ a training session with the Leicester Tigers Academy! In the evening they met the Lord Mayor of Leicester and Rory Underwood. They left Leicester early on Friday morning to ride over a 100 miles into Berkshire, taking a visit to OURFC and the Iffley Road ground on the way, before cycling into Twickenham on Saturday for the London leg of the IRB 7’s.
They aim to raise £10,000. Please, please please help us raise some money for these charities.
