At a very warm and sunny Iffley Road, the 2103 Blues preseason training camp began first thing on Monday morning with 40 players returning or arriving to stake their claim to a Blues squad spot this term. The week long camp started with a shock to some, as all the players were asked to run a mile on the famous Iffley Road track where Sir Roger Bannister ran the first ever sub 4 minute mile back in 1954. The rest of the week will be an intensive mix of rugby training, strength & conditioning, yoga, Pilates, analysis, team bonding exercises and some cultural activities thrown in for good measure! Following the training camp, a party of 36 will be selected for the two week tour to France with fixtures against the Espoirs teams from Biarritz and Dax. Regular updates throughout the week will be posted on the website with more details on how preseason is progressing.
