The first week of the Blues preseason training camp draws to a close with a ‘social’ in the OURFC Pavilion at Iffley Road. The guys have worked incredibly hard all week, with up to three sessions each day, including weights, wrestling, yoga, Pilates, hill sprints and oh also some rugby! Under the guidance of Head Coach James Wade, he and the coaching have balanced the week well so the players get the most from the intensive schedule as they build towards the tour to France on Tuesday. On the rugby side, assistant coach James Gaunt has been working hard with the backs, along with a visit from Charlie Hodgson who worked with the kickers. Wayne Thompson did a specialist scrum session with the forwards and was pleased with his ‘raw material’! The guys now have the weekend off to recuperate, before returning on Monday for another full day, before departure for France at midday on Tuesday. Please look out for regular tour diary reports whilst the guys are away.
