Taylor in action for the Blues in November 2013

Following a marathon election on Friday night, lasting over 6 hours, Rhodes Scholar Jacob Taylor (Keble) was elected OURFC Captain for 2014 making him the sixth Australian to take the role since 2000.
Following in the footsteps of John Carter, who lead the club for an unprecedented three years, will be no easy task but the Australian has the necessary experience and most importantly backing of the players to meet this challenge head on. Prior to coming to Oxford in September 2013 Jacob played first grade rugby for Sydney University and also was Vice-Captain of the Australian 7’s team on the IRB Circuit in 2011. Jacob is currently studying for his Masters in Neuroanthropology and in the process of applying to continue this in to a DPhil.
Jacob will lead the Blues for first time on Wednesday night when they welcome the might of the British Army to Iffley Road, kick off 7.15pm.
