The Blues travel to Portsmouth tonight for the their only away fixture of the term against the Royal Navy, after last weeks match at Bristol was cancelled. Tonight’s match will go ahead despite the recent heavy rain fall, as the Navy have an artificial pitch available in reserve if the main grass pitch is unfit. Captain Jacob Taylor has been able to call upon ten Blues in his starting XV, with a youthful bench available to him should the need arise. Back row forward Fraser Heathcote (St Edmund Hall) is unavailable after a storming match against the Army two weeks ago, but he has an able replacement in Gus Jones (St Catherine’s) who is in the England U20’s Six Nations squad, but there is a rest week this weekend. Centre Matt Janney (Oriel) who has been in fine form this term is also unavailable with a minor injury, so Ed Doe (Kellogg) moves to centre with Don Oboh (St John’s) making his debut on the wing.
Kick off is 7.15pm at the United Services ground, Burnaby Road, Portsmouth, PO1 2AE.
