The England and Blues backs together at Twickenham

Seventeen very fortunate members of the current Blues squad had the opportunity to train against the England squad at Twickenham on Thursday morning, as Stuart Lancaster prepares the International team for the visit of Wales a week on Sunday in a decisive Six Nations encounter. The Blues squad under the guidance of head coach James Wade, ran some prescribed attacking plays against the England side and were then asked to defend whilst the England side went through their attacking plays, at this point Oxford’s Welsh tight-head prop was asked to leave the pitch! This fantastic opportunity came about because of James Wade’s connections forged during his time with Sale Sharks and London Wasps. This was the second time in four years that England have called on the Blues for some live training, Nick Haydon’s team  visited the Pennyhill Park training ground for a similar session in 2010. Long may the relationship continue.
