Sir Ivor Roberts Elected OURFC President

At the AGM in May, Sir Ivor Roberts KCMG, FCIL was elected as OURFC President as successor to Mr Peter Bridges MBE, JP, DL who stood down after a combined 10 years as Chairman and then President.
Sir Ivor is a former British diplomat who served in eight countries culminating in appointments as the British Ambassador to Yugoslavia, Ireland, and Italy. Born in Liverpool, he was educated at St Mary’s College, Crosby and Keble College, Oxford where he is  now an Honorary Fellow, graduating with a degree in Modern Languages in 1968. He was a university triallist in rugby and for many years a rugby referee in Australia, France, Spain and the UK. After Sir Ivor retired from HM Diplomatic Service in September 2006 he took up his current post as President of Trinity College, Oxford. Sir Ivor is also Chairman of the  Trustees of Vincent’s Club and Senior Member of the University Golf Club.
