Blues Team To Face RC Slava

Celebrations after the match in Saint Petersburg

Captain Jacob Taylor has named his second Blues squad of the 2014 Varsity Campaign to face RC Slava in Moscow on Saturday 20th September, kick off 4.00pm as part of the local club’s 40 Anniversary celebrations. In his continued absence the side will be lead by experienced hooker Nick Gardner (St Anne’s) and will include nine Blues in the starting XV and one more on the bench. Former Newcastle University and England Student’s representative George Cullen (Kellogg) will start his first match for the Blues at fly-half, with wings Henry Lamont (New) & Henry Hughes (Magdalen), prop Lewis Anderson (Trinity), lock Graeme MacGilchrist (University), flanker Julien Morlet (St Peters), centre Matt Janney (Oriel) and scrum-half Henry de Berker (Lincoln) all making their seasonal debuts. The squad having travelled by train from Saint Petersburg on Friday morning are in good shape and are preparing for a tough, physical encounter with one of Russia’s premier club sides.
