Action from the 2012 fixture between the Blues and Saints

In a fixture originally to be against Leicester Tigers, who then pulled out with an injury crisis, Nottingham stepping in to fill the gap but they pulled out on Sunday with their own injury issues, luckily for OURFC Supporters, Northampton Saints have stepped into the breach and will provide a stern test for the Blues at Iffley Road on Tuesday night. The Saints will be bringing a predominantly academy side and Captain Jacob Taylor and Head Coach James Wade have selected accordingly and give some ‘senior’ players a rest and give opportunities for others to impress. Jacob himself plays his second game after returning from injury and there are debuts for centre Basil Strang, hooker Tom Quayle and second row Tom Hilton-Stevens. The Blues side is very young with seven players still eligible for the U21s, with two of those being Freshers, in the half back pairing of Matt Geiger and Kit Goodfellow. Kick off is at 7.15pm with the gates and Pavilion open from 6pm, entry is £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.
