Sean Morris has signed a full-time professional contract with rugby league side London Broncos, following two highly successful seasons playing part-time for the newly formed Oxford Rugby League Club in Championship 1.
Sean came up to Oxford in September 2008 after a year in the Saracens Academy to read Physiological Sciences at Somerville College and then completed a Masters in Contemporary Indian Studies at Trinity College before joining the OURFC staff as Rugby Development Officer for the CB and Senior Strength and Conditioning coach. During his time as an Oxford student, Sean won three Blues (2008, 2010 & 2011). being on the victorious side on all three occasions and was an unused replacement in 2009 when Oxford lost. Sean started with the recently relegated Super League side just over a week ago, although he is continuing to fulfill his roles at OURFC as the club and he plan for his departaure and replacement in the New Year.
Everyone at OURFC wish Sean all the best in his exciting new chapter; is he the first former OURFC player to sign as a full-time rugby league professional? If you know different please let us know, ourfc@sport.ox.ac.uk and we very much hope to see him in the Super League in a years time as the Broncos look to bounce straight back from the Championship.
