Action from the fixture in 2011

For OURFC’s last home fixture of the 2014/15 season, Captain George Messum and Coach James Wade have been able to call upon a mixture of experience and youth in a squad that still includes nine Blues from the 2014 Varsity Match, as they take on the Penguin International XV at Iffley Road on Wednesday night, kick off 7.30pm. The Penguins who enjoyed a comprehensive 57 points to 13 victory over Cambridge University two weeks ago, will head to Oxford with confidence looking to retain the Alan Wright Trophy, named after one of the co-founders of this famous touring club, who we hope will be there to present the magnificent trophy to the victorious captain at the games conclusion.

The match will also mark the start of a year when OURFC will partner ‘Winston’s Wish’ as their chosen charity, with the team wearing bespoke white jerseys with the charity’s logo on the front; the jerseys will be auctioned during and at the end of the match, with all proceeds going to the charity, plus their will be a bucket collection on the evening too. For more details of Winston’s Wish, please visit their website at: http://www.winstonswish.org.uk/

The Jackdaw Lane gate and Pavilion bar will be open from 6.00pm, with the Iffley Road gate open from 6.30pm. Entry is £5 for adults and £2 for concessions (over 60’s, under 18’s & students). The usual car parking restrictions apply, for alternative places to park, please visit the contact us section of this website.
