On Wednesday afternoon (18th March), OURFC will play their final 15-a-side fixture of the 2014/15 season when they travel to Dublin to play Trinity College in what has become an eagerly anticipated annual encounter between the two historic universities. Captain George Messum has seen his original squad depleted because of injuries sustained during Cuppers semi-finals last week, which has resulted in the loss of full-back Jacob Taylor, centre Henry Lamont and prop Lewis Anderson – all of whom would have been in the starting XV. However he is still able to call upon ten Blues in the starting line-up as they look to finish the season a winning note following the victory over the Penguins at Iffley Road two weeks ago. The last two encounters between the clubs has seen the honours shared in two low scoring encounters – in March 2013 at a very wet and windy Blackrock College, TCD prevailed 7 points to 6 and in the return in October of the same year OURFC edged the result 6 points to 3 on another dismal night. With the forecast set fair for Dublin this afternoon, we expect to see a different scoreline with both clubs showing an ability to score tries throughout this last season, so point should be the order of the day!
Kick-off is at 4.30pm in College Park, with entry free.
