Oxford Players Help Penguins To Win At Cambridge

Penguin International RFC played their first fixture of 2016 when they visited Grange Road to take on Cambridge University on Wednesday night, looking to replicate last years strong victory by 57 points to 13 they included three Oxford Blues in the starting XV. Second row Fergus Taylor who has two Blues in 2014 & 15, No 8 George Messum who was the 2015 OURFC Captain and earned his Blue in 2014 and Ed Doe who won two Blues in 2013 & 14. In addition Ollie Shorthose, who played for the Greyhounds in their 2015 Varsity Match win, made a an appearance off the bench. The Oxford connection did not end their, as current OURFC Rugby Development Officer Joe Winpenny wass also among the replacements, whilst the team will be coached by former OURFC Director of Rugby Steve Hill and former OURFC Blues coach Carl Douglas. Last but by no means least the Penguins team will be managed by OURFC General Manager Tim Stevens.

The Penguins managed to secure a hard earned 17 points to 16 victory with Ed Doe scoring one of the victors three tries.
