OURFC Looking Forward To Welcoming the Welsh Crawshays To Iffley Road

Rugby returns to Iffley Road for the first time in 2016 when OURFC welcome the Welsh Crawshays – the strong and historic Welsh invitational side who were successful in this fixture last season with a 22 points to 15 victory, on Wednesday night. With last weeks match against the RAF cancelled due to the weather the OURFC players and coaching team are eager to return to action for the fist time since their success at Twickenham back in December. The side will be lead by recently elected Blues Captain Fergus Taylor (St Catherine’s), the former Sherborne and UCL student who has won two Blues will be keen to get his reign off to a winning start. As always at this time of year the OURFC team will be a mix of experience and youth, as the captain and coaches look to identify players capable of earning their Blues come the 8th December 2016! Look out for the next Matt Geiger or Ed David this term, as the younger OURFC players press their claims for inclusion in the senior squad come September.

The Welsh Crawshays include two OURFC alumni in back row forward Gus Jones (Blues 2012, 2013 & 2014) and centre Ed Doe (Blues 2013 & 2104, Gus is currently playing full-time at London Welsh and Ed Doe at Richmond and we very much look forward to welcoming them back to Iffley Road.

The Jackdaw Lane gate and Pavilion bar will open at 6.00pm and the Iffley Road gate at 6.30pm with kick-off at 7.15pm, entry is juts £5 for adults and £2 for concessions. Please note that due to the recent wet weather we still have restricted car parking on site and this is for permit holders only, alternatives can be found by visiting the Contact Us section of our website.
