Sam Egerton who gained four Blues for Oxford in 2011, 12, 13 & 14 has signed with Newcastle Falcons for the 2016/17 season. Sam studied Law as an undergraduate at Keble College for three years before continuing with his studies at Oxford for a further year when he read for the Post Graduate Certificate in Historical Studies. Sam’s Varsity Match record is second to none, with four victories, two Man of the Match performances, four tries, but also the unenviable record of being the first player ever to be sent off in the fixture! On leaving Oxford Sam played¬† half a season at Yorkshire Carnegie in the Championship, scoring thirteen tries, before signing a full-time contract with England 7’s in May 2015. Sam made his first appearance in a World Series event last weekend in Singapore but also spent a short period on loan at Harlequins during the 2016 Six Nations as cover for Danny Care making three appearances.

We wish Sam all the very best for his rugby development in the North-East.
