The Oxbridge U23 squad celebrate their victory

At a warm and sunny Twickenham on Saturday lunchtime the Oxbridge U23 side beat the Combined Services U23 side by 36 points to 30 in an entertaining match, extending their lead in the series by five wins to two. Oxford provided nine Blues to just two from Cambridge in the 23 man squad, and this was perhaps reflected in the fact that all 36 points were scored by the Dark Blues!

Tries came at regular intervals throughout the match for the Oxbridge students with Freshmen Tom Stileman (St Peter’s) and Will Wilson snaring a brace each, with ‘veteran’ Henry Hughes (Magdalen) and Basil Strang (St Stephen’s House) adding one each, Strang also converted three of the tries.
Will Wilson was also rewarded with the Man of the Match Plaque, after another outstanding display at Twickenham.
