After two intensive weeks of training and one match in Oxford, the men’s Blues squad left Iffley Road before dawn on Friday morning to fly to the South of France for a seven day tour in Toulon. Captain Fergus Taylor and Head Coach James Wade have been pleased with the progress made so far and the integration of new and returning players, but hope that the 24/7 environment in Toulon will bring the squad closer together and help to engender the ‘culture’ that is necessary to a successful Varsity Campaign.

The squad will undertake a light recovery session this afternoon, followed by a Captain’s Run, before playing two 40 minute matches on Saturday afternoon against the Toulon Espoirs and local club side La Basseut at the Stade Marquet.
