Will Wilson on his way to the tryline

On Saturday evening, the Men’s Blues took on the Croatian National team for the  second consecutive year in Zagreb and the third time the tow sides had met overall. A crisp evening in the Croatian capital, saw an entertaining match played in good spirit, that ultimately resulted in the visitors proving too strong and claiming a second consecutive victory over their international opponents by 45 points to 7. The foundations for victory were laid up front with the tight five creating the platform from which the back row could perform and the back line flourish with some front foot ball. Tries came at regular intervals in both half’s, seven in total for the Blues, five of which were converted, whilst the hosts could manage just one converted try in reply. No 8 Will Wilson (Keble) was unanimously voted Man of the Match, as he once again showed maturity beyond his tender 19 years.

Next up for the Blues are new opponents in the shape of the British Police who visit Iffley Road on Tuesday 1st November, kick-off 7.15pm.
