We are now able to confirm the funeral arrangements for Tony. The service will be held on Monday 16th April at 3pm, Easthampstead Park Crematorium, South Road, Bracknell, Wokingham, RG40 3DW. We have been advised to arrive by 2:30pm due to restricted parking. Following the service we invite you to Maidenhead Rugby Club, Braywick Road, Maidenhead, SL6 1BN. Anyone unable to attend the service is welcome to join us anytime from 5:15pm. We very much want to celebrate Tony’s life so please feel no obligation to wear black.
Rather than floral tributes we would be hugely thankful for donations to rugby charity Wooden Spoon. There will be collections at the service or you can donate via www.justgiving.com/fundraising/brooksie8
If you are unable to join us, please remember Tony fondly and raise a glass to him.
The 57-year-old died at home while watching his beloved rugby on TV on Sunday night, his family have said. Tony won three Blues for Oxford in 1980, 81 and 82 whilst studying at Hertford College after coming up from Plymouth College. On leaving Oxford Tony went on to play for Bath and Rosslyn Park, he also represented England under-19s, under-23s and the Barbarians invitational side. Latterly he was heavily involved with Maidenhead RFC.
