On Friday evening RC Nada in Split hosted the Men’s Blues final 15-a-side match of the 2017/18 season when they took on the Croatian National team. Despite a 5pm kick-off, the temperature was still 24 degrees with clear blue skies above, making conditions idea for the large, vocal, local support but somewhat challenging for the visiting Blues side. However, the young Blues side rose to the challenge and put in a performance to be proud of and ran out winners by 59 points to 10, which augurs well for the 2018 Varsity campaign. Captain Dom Waldouck was unable to travel because of commitments with Newcastle Falcons, so Conor Kearns led the side which included 9 Blues and 9 members of the highly successful 2017 Greyhounds Varsity squad.
