The Whippets travelled to RAF Halton on Sunday afternoon to take on the RAF U23’s on a gloriously sunny October afternoon, unfortunately they found their hosts a little too hot to handle particularly in the first half, when they conceded 33 unanswered points. They put in a much improved performance in the second half conceding just 12 points and having the last word with a try of their own from Captain Josh Southworth. Whilst the loss was disappointing, this young group of players will have learnt a lot from taking on such a strong opponent and will hopefully put in an improved performance next Saturday when they host Henley U20’s at St John’s College Sports ground on the Woodstock Road, kick off at 12.30pm.
