Whippets Progress To The Oxfordshire Shield Final

The Whippets made it through to the Oxfordshire County Shield final with a hard fought but ultimately convincing over local club side Abingdon on Saturday afternoon, the final score being 31 points to 10. Their opponents will be either Oxford or Chipping Norton who are yet to play their semi-final inn the final to be played at Iffley Road on Saturday 30th March.

The Whippets scored 5 tries to 2 at a blustery Lambrick Way with debutant Fresher Dan Stoller shining with a brace and adding three conversions in the centres, full-back Nick Etherington, wing Chris Annous and second row Reuben Green chipping in with the other tries.

A number of these players will now turn their sights to the U20’s Varsity Match to be played at Grange Road on Saturday 2nd March.
