All at OURFC were very sorry to hear of the passing of Philip Lay earlier this month. Philip had worked closely with OURFC and CURUFC, first as part of the Gifted team responsible for marketing the Varsity Match between 2011 and 2013 and then directly for the clubs in 2014 and 2015.

Philip made an outstanding contribution to the Varsity Match and was extremely passionate about the fixture and its potential.

Philip’s enthusiasm for red wine and rugby were legendary, and he was kind enough to gift an annual case of El Baron for the OURFC club awards. These gifts were very much appreciated by all of the recipients. Philip will be fondly remembered and very much missed.
