The Men’s Blues play the opening match of the 2019 World University Invitation Tournament on Wednesday 18th September, KO 1300 at Kamiigusa, Tokyo against the hosts Waseda University. The fixture will also incorporate playing for the Oku Memorial Trophy, in memory of Ambassador Katsu Oku who tragically lost his life in November 2003 whilst on diplomatic service in Iraq.
The squad includes 12 Blues in the starting XV and a further 4 on the bench in a game the Blues will be very keen to win and put down a marker to the other teams competing in the tournament.
