The Women’s Blues opened their BUCS League account with a deserved 29 points to 10 victory over Sussex University at Iffley Road on Wednesday afternoon, thus maintaining their unbeaten start to season 2019/20. The Blues started he match strongly and dominated possession and territory for the first 30 minutes in which time they scored three tries from wing Sile Johnson, No 8 Hannah Cooper and fly-half Nina Jenkins with centre Abby D’Cruz adding one conversion. Susses hit back just before the interval with an unconverted try and then started the second half with renewed optimism and added a second try early on to narrow the gap to just 10 points.
