Former Oxford Blue Will Ellerby (2001), put together a team of five Oxford Alumni plus one, to run the length of the River Thames non-stop from the Source to the Thames Barrier in aid of the British Heath Foundation on the weekend of the 24th-25th July. The team completed the route as a non-stop relay by splitting the 295km into 31 stages, setting off from the Source at 8am on the Saturday and finished at the Thames Barrier at just after 11am on the Sunday. Each of the team completed five stages of approximately 10km each, before running the final leg all together. As such, each member ran roughly a marathon and a quarter each over the course of 27 hours. So far they have raised in excess of £18,000 including Gift Aid donations, but would appreciate any additonal donations via this link:
