On Wednesday evening the Women’s Blues played their first match of 2022 when the welcomed Cardiff University to Iffley Road for BUCS League match. A slow start saw the Blues 10 points down after just 7 minutes, but after this they held their own against a strong Cardiff team, and a penalty from fly-half Stella Farmer and try from centre Alex Travers, made the final score 22 points to 10 in favour of the visitors. The Blues have an immediate opportunity to go one better, when they travel to Wales to face the same opposition next Wednesday.

On Friday night, a late change of venue from Iffley Road to Reading, saw the Men’s Blues travel to local club side Rams and gain revenge for their loss at home back in November. A very close and evenly contested match saw the Blues edge the victory when fly-half David Wilkinson coolly slotted a 78th minute penalty to make the final score 10 points to 7 in favour of the Dark Blues. The Blues will now enjoy a week off, as they prepare for their visit to Dublin to take on Trinity College on Friday 4th February, KO 1800 at College Park.
