The 2022 OURFC Touch Rugby Squad

Both women’s teams, Blues & Panthers enjoyed a week off from fixtures, but not from Varsity preparation, as they continued to train hard, and the Blues squad also enjoyed a ‘Team Bonding’ weekend away.

All three men’s teams were once again in action, posting two wins and one loss. The Blues welcomed a young Ealing Trailfinders team to Iffley Road on Wednesday night and secured a 31 -21 victory in an exciting match.

On Saturday, the Greyhounds travelled west to face Cardiff Met U20’s and came away with an impressive 55 points to 7 win; whilst the Whippets hosted the Mo Bros XV at Jesus College ground and lost by the odd point in a 64 point thriller!

Also, on Saturday afternoon Iffley Road played host to the fourth Touch Rugby Varsity Match, but unfortunately Oxford lost by five tries to four, their first loss in the fixture, meaning the overall score is 3 – 1 in Oxford’s favour.

This week the Women’s Blues have a contested training session with Oxford Harlequins at Horspath Road on Tuesday evening, whilst the Panthers continue to train hard as their Varsity is now less than 12 days away.

On Wednesday night the Men’s Blues are back in action at Iffley Road as they welcome Penguin International RFC, KO 1915. Then on Saturday the Greyhounds again head west, this time to face The Welsh Academicals at Mountain Ash RFC, KO 1400 in their final match before their Varsity the following Saturday.

Rugby League Varsity

On Saturday Iffley Road will host the 2022 Rugby League Varsity Match, KO 1430, the gates and the Pavilion Bar will be open from 1300 to 1900.
