OURFC Recruitment Assistance
OURFC has a recruitment group, including both the Men’s & Women’s Captains, senior academics and other experienced committee members, set up to support potential players. It offers guidance and advice on applications for courses, the chance to talk with current players, and also information on scholarship opportunities.
If, having looked at information on courses, you would like advice on admission prospects please click the link below, giving our recruitment group information on your rugby and academic backgrounds. A member of the recruitment group will respond as soon as possible. All information will be confidential to that group.
Eligibility to Play
To play for an OURFC representative team you must be admitted as an undergraduate or postgraduate student on a University course, and be matriculated as a member of an Oxford college.
All courses are subject to strict admissions procedures with fixed deadlines (for undergraduate courses a year ahead of possible admission) and typically requiring extensive documentation. Admission is competitive, with unfortunately no special dispensations for athletes.
Additional Guidance
If you would like to tackle the challenge of becoming one of Oxford’s scholar athletes please look first at the University’s admissions website https://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions to see which course(s) may fit your qualifications and interests. Other key details will be the length, scheduling and cost of programmes.
