Kyoto Imperial University visit OURFC

OURFC were lucky to host Kyoto Imperial University on their recent UK tour on 20th and 21st March. After an incredibly successful tour to Kyoto last year for the Greyhounds squad it was a great opportunity to reciprocate the fantastic hosting shown to us from our Japanese counterparts. On Wednesday 20th our visitors took part in a training session in the picturesque University Parks followed by a tour of the University and Colleges of Wadham and Christ Church. That evening the tourists were treated to an evening in Vincent's Club.

On Thursday 21st March the Kyoto Imperial 2nd XV took on a Balliol/Hertford combined XV. In a thrilling match of free flowing rugby it was the vistors who took the spoils with a win of 17-40 at the final whistle. The next match saw the bragging rights for the Rhino Trophy put on the line. In another fantastic show piece for touring rugby it was again the visitors who took the victory, securing a 34-51 victory.

Relationships between Oxford and Kyoto continue to go from strength to strength. Everyone at OURFC would like to thank Kyoto for making the trip over to Oxford and for their continued show of friendship. You can see a video review of the trip below:
